Fagan Studios is a high end, full-service studio located in downtown Rochester where for over 17 years we’ve been creating fashion forward, artistic portraits for families. From the consultation, where we conceptualize the shoot, to the hanging of the final portrait in your home; we create art for your family.

Our beautiful 3500 sq ft studio (with convenient parking just behind our building) provides a unique and personalized experience for you and your High School senior. Many of our sessions start here, where we take advantage of our beautiful studio light, late 1800’s brick wall and ample space. We also offer the option to visit outdoor locations - capturing the best of both in-studio and on-location looks! 

We strive to create gorgeous art of and for your family. Our clients treasure our beautiful work on their walls and in our custom designed Art Books for years to come!

Once we have your session on the calendar, the next step is your in-studio personal consultation where our co-founder and lead photographer, Shawn Fagan, will meet with you to conceptualize your portrait session. At this brief appointment, you’ll discuss:

• How would you like to use the custom created portraits in your home? Many clients like to purchase a collection for their wall and our in-studio designed Art Books.
• Locations - We know of areas that look great every season throughout the year but we LOVE going somewhere new or a location special to you, like Grandpa's farm!
• Clothing - We want to document who you are first and foremost. From there, there are certain outfits that do and do not photograph well. We'll help you filter your closet down to what will help make a beautiful portrait...or help encourage you to take that shopping trip you've been wanting to do! ;)
• Sports/Hobbies - Whether you're looking for the grandiose (yep, we went swimming with our camera underwater to create some portraits!) or wanting to document what you love in a more simple way (we know lighting and our studio is designed for it!), we'll help conceptualize some glorious ideas! More on that below...

// Senior Portrait Sessions //

We offer three different Senior Portrait Sessions to fit your senior's needs! 

• 45 Minute / $135 - Generally good for one location and up to three outfits
• 90 Minute / $185 - Certainly our most popular! Built for two locations, one of which is typically our downtown studio and then to an outdoor location and good for up to five different outfits
• Editorial (2.5 hours) / $265 - Looking for a session to incorporate multiple hobbies, three locations, closet of clothing...whatever your needs are, we're here for you! This shoot usually includes three locations and up to seven outfits!

// Sports/Hobbies //

Shawn's interest in portrait photography started with sports portraits while working for newspapers and magazines as a photojournalist in SD, UT and IA after graduating from South Dakota State University! Every time the publication he was working for needed a portrait of a featured athlete, Shawn jumped to be the photographer for those assignments. Inspired by the work of Walter Iooss Jr of Sports Illustrated, Shawn would work with the athlete to create a very unique photograph. He keeps that passion and desire to create incredible sports portraits going with his senior portrait creations and subjects! 

// Tangible Art v. Digital Files //

Both!!!

We live in a digital world where everyone wants digital files for use with their social media profiles and getting their image out NOW! We get it, and we provide every client with the digital copies of every portrait they order for any digital type uses! Whether you want to post them now on Instagram, incorporate them into a slideshow for your grad party or email them to Grandma, we'll produce fully produced portrait digital files for such uses of every portrait you order.

Better than that of course, we'll produce the highest quality of printed products for YEARS of enjoyment through our printed product offerings! We offer a number of pre-set packages or you can customize your own. We can print top of the line art prints to canvases. We offer custom designed products and framing. And certainly our most popular product, our Art Books which incorporate the essence of the entire session into one custom designed book! 

We print everything through our studio, guaranteeing the highest quality, the best color, with the utmost care. We're not going to give you a chore (here's a CD, now go print your photographs! Um, no, absolutely not!)...we're creating art here! If it's not perfect, we redo it. We're here to serve you through every step - from that initial consultation, helping you select what portrait art works together, to...heck, we'll even hang the art in your home! Our business is built around providing an experience like no other in SE Minnesota!
